Two companies within the Brilex Group of Companies will merge.

All Boltech Inc. employees are being merged into Taylor- Winfield Technologies Inc. at its Innovation Place facility in Youngstown. This is Phase 1 of the merger.

Rich Gunter, project manager at Boltech, will transfer to the Innovation Place facility as plant manager.

Marc A. Cossette, product manager for Boltech Product Group, said the current Boltech building will be used by other Brilex employees.

Boltech designs and builds industrial equipment, and Taylor-Winfield makes industrial welding equipment.

The merger of the two companies will be complete by July 1.

“Both companies had a number of engineers, and it just made sense to combine them,” Cossette said.

The merger will help customers by including integrated product offerings, expanded engineering capability and increased machine design and manufacturing capacity. The combined companies will provide worldwide field service and spare-parts support and create a stronger market position to serve the steel-handling and processing markets.
