POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

April 25

Arrest: Police near state Route 170 and Shetland Drive arrested 20-year-old Emily E. Thompson, 151 Argyle Ave., Boardman, on a felony warrant from Boardman charging her with receiving stolen property.

BOARDMAN

April 27

Identity theft: A Carter Circle woman learned that her personal information and credit card had been used to buy online $748 worth of merchandise that was delivered to her residence.

Breaking and entering: A crowbar was used to pry open a side door to South Avenue Flea Market, 7689 South Ave., though it appeared nothing was stolen or disturbed.

Vandalism: Someone used a rock to break a front window to Cyril Roberts Jewelers, 7687 South Ave. Domestic violence: Jordan L. Zoll, 18, of 41 Arlene Ave., Boardman, was charged with the crime after her mother alleged Zoll had pushed her and tossed a shoe at her, striking the accuser’s arm, during an argument.

Burglary: Police responded to a possible fight at a Market Street motel, before arresting 29-year-old Brian Gadson, 1199 Julia Drive, Warren, nearby. He was wanted by Warren authorities on a burglary charge.

Theft: A man in his 40s wearing glasses and a tan jacket and pants stole five entertainment-system items as well as a stereo receiver and surge protector from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road. About $4,000 worth of the stolen goods was recovered.

Arrest: Police on Market Street took into custody 21-year-old Jennamarie E. Holler, 4329 Hopkins Road, Youngstown, and 24-year-old Tony Camelli, 54 E. Florida Ave., Youngstown, on warrants. Holler was wanted on a probation-violation charge; Camelli was accused of failing to appear in court.

Assault: Authorities took Derrick C. Braden, 28, into custody at his residence, 5225 Trotter Drive, Boardman, on an assault charge. Braden was accused of punching a township man above his left eye at a South Avenue restaurant.

Theft: A wallet, a cellphone, two credit cards and other items were taken from a vehicle in the 1800 block of Oles Avenue.

Trespassing: The owner of a business in the 8300 block of Southern Boulevard told police a man was on the property, despite his having been warned not to return.

Arrest: Kevin M. Teague, 20, of 3007 Green Acres Drive, Liberty, was picked up in the 90 block of Terrace Drive. He was wanted by Brookfield police on a telecommunications-harassment charge.

Breaking and entering: Lock hasps were removed from five storage units at an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Hillman Way, apparently with a pry bar or similar tool.

Harassment: A Meadowbrook Avenue man reported receiving a series of unwanted and threatening text messages.

Criminal mischief: Someone in the 60 block of Shadyside Drive urinated on a vehicle’s tire.

April 28

Drugs: A traffic stop near Linger Place resulted in charges of operating a vehicle impaired and possession of drug-abuse instruments against 32-year-old Brandi M. Basista, 31 Grimm Heights Ave., Struthers, as well as a citation charging her with marijuana possession. Found in Basista’s pocket and car were a bag of suspected marijuana and a syringe, respectively, police said.

Burglary: Took place in the 700 block of Annawan Lane via a rear sliding-glass door. Stolen were two TVs and computer equipment.

Criminal damaging: A car’s passenger-side window was broken in the 20 block of McArthur Drive.

Vandalism: Two rear apartment windows were intentionally broken in the 300 block of Shields Road.

Attempted burglary: Someone removed a rear window screen to a residence in the 300 block of Melrose Avenue before trying to enter.

April 29

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to break into a home in the 900 block of Larkridge Avenue through a rear window, but was unsuccessful.

Arrest: Officers responded to a dispute in the 500 block of Pierce Drive before arresting 28-year-old Amber P. Rothwell, 512 Pierce, Boardman, on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: A $5,200 gold diamond ring was removed from a residence in the 40 block of Homestead Drive.

Theft: Authorities near Midlothian and Rush boulevards pulled over Jonetta L. Torres, 20, of 1647 Fremont Ave., Warren, who was wanted by Niles authorities on a charge of failing to appear in court. The original charge was petty larceny.

April 30

Stolen property: Officers investigated a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road before charging Darrin L. Lough, 59 Mahoning Court, and Brandon B. Nesbitt, 4174 Claridge Drive, with receiving stolen property. The two 20-year-old Newton Falls men had several packages of cold tablets and a 20-pack of beer believed to have been been stolen from CVS Pharmacy, 7230 Market St., a report showed. Also arrested was Osmond Lemasters, 19, of 601 Newton Drive, Newton Falls, on a charge of underage possession of alcohol.
