Pa. cop, firefighter charged with molesting teen girl

OLD FORGE, Pa. (AP) — A police captain and a volunteer firefighter are accused of sexually molesting a 15-year-old girl in 2005.

Pennsylvania State Police arrested 34-year-old Jamie Krenitsky, a captain in the Old Forge police department, and 46-year-old Walt Chiavacci on Thursday.

District Attorney Andy Jarbola says the probe remains open, according to a report in The Times-Tribune of Scranton. Krenitsky was placed on administrative leave during the investigation.

Court documents say the alleged victim, now 23, approached prosecutors Wednesday to report that Krenitsky had sexual contact with her over the course of six months. A police complaint says the woman recorded Krenitsky admitting to sex acts, and that he confessed during an interview with prosecutors. Chiavacci was a member of the Old Forge fire department at the time of the alleged assault.
