ASSOCIATIONS

Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1955 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday at What’s Cookin’ Restaurant in the Matthews Square Plaza. Spouses and guests are welcome.

Greater Youngstown Monitoring Association Scanner Club will meet at 7 p.m. May 12 at Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St. Anyone interested in scanner monitoring or amateur radio is welcome.

Mahoning Valley Civil War Round Table will have a dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 14 at Antone’s Banquet Centre in Boardman. Edwin Cole Bearss, chief historian emeritus of the National Park Service, will present “Lincoln and McClellan: a Troubled Relationship.” The cost is $13, and reservations are required. Youngstown Mother of Twins Club will have a “Ladies Night Out” Wednesday with a bus trip to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. The cost is $25 per person, and the bus will depart at 4:30 p.m. from Southern Blvd. The group will have its 5th annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at First Covenant Church on Glenwood Ave., Boardman. American Sewing Guild Niles Chapter Neighborhood Groups have scheduled the following meetings. Visitors are always welcome. Youngstown Area Weavers Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Weaving Willow, 1888 Brookfield-Hubbard Road, Hubbard. Nancy Marshall and Liz Andraso will be the leaders for the annual basket and gourd day. Registration is required to weave a basket or decorate a gourd. Mercer County Christian Coalition will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God, 1455 N. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, Pa. Katy Abram, director of policy for the Pennsylvania chapter of Americans for Prosperity, will talk about how individuals can affect the flow of policy, legislation and actions at every level of government through the use of social media. The group welcomes all who want to learn more.

Mount Carmel Society of St. Rose Church will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the lower church.

Seton III will meet for its end-of-the-year social and dinner at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Springfield Township Historical Society will host Hugh Mullen, who will present his first-person character from the Civil War to the group at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the meeting house on Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road in Petersburg, three buildings south of Knesal Hardware. Mullen will portray St. Smith Stimmel, a member of the Union Light Guard, which protected President Lincoln. There is no charge, and all are welcome.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Nar-Anon, a 12-step program for relatives and friends who have been adversely affected by a loved one’s addiction to drugs, meets at 7 p.m. Fridays at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 160 Clifton NE, Howland; newcomers are welcome at 6:45. For more information call 330-856-3822.

Nar-Anon Family Group, which helps those who are adversely affected by a relative or friend who is an addict, will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 5211 Mahoning Ave., Suite 3000, Austintown. The 12-step program offers help by sharing experience, strength and hope. Newcomers are welcome at 6:45.

Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Humility of Mary Home Care Office, 979 Tibbetts-Wick Road, Girard. Light refreshments will be provided. The group provides information and encouragement to individuals who have or will have ostomies. Meetings are free and open to all ostomy patients, families and friends. Youngstown PFLAG will have its annual meeting and potluck from 6:30 to 8:30 Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown. Use the entrance to the parish house at the back of the church. Meetings are confidential and open to anyone needing support or having questions concerning GLBT issues.
