The city and Greater Warren-Youngstown Urban League’s Minority Business Assistance Center are hosting a business-opportunity summit.

The event will take place June 6 at Kent State- Trumbull in the Technology Building Room 117.

Registration begins at 3:45 p.m. with presentations at 4:15 p.m.

Two local companies have received awards from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.

M & M Wine Cellar of Lowellville was awarded $40,000 by the BWC to purchase an automated wine-bottling system to reduce the risk of injury related to manual material handling such as sprains, strains, cuts and the ergonomic risks associated with prolonged standing, repetitive motion and grip force during the bottling process.

Countryside Veterinary Service Inc. of Champion was awarded $4,031.24 to buy mobile examination/ transport tables to reduce the risk of injury in the manual handling of animals such as sprains, strains and animal bites.

U.S. Banker magazine has listed Consumers Bancorp Inc. of Minerva among the Top 200 Community Banks and Thrifts in the U.S. for the third-consecutive year.

Consumers ranked 106th nationally, advancing one position since the 2011 ranking. Consumers ranked sixth out of the 15 banks in Ohio that made the annual Top 200 list published in the magazine’s May issue.
