Record high temperature today

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning Valley reached a record high today for May 3 with the temperature reaching 87 degrees at 1:57 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The previous record for May 3 was 86 degrees in 1942.

There won’t be any challenges to other records for the next few days, but it will be warmer than average Friday to Monday, according to the weather service.
