R&B-funk band Midnight Star to perform at Buckeye Elks

Midnight Star, the popular R&B-funk band that had a string of hits in the ’80s, will perform Friday night at Buckeye Elks, 421 North Ave. The band is known for its songs “Freakazoid,” “No Parking on the Dance Floor” and “Operator.”
Opening the show will be Billy Beck, formerly of the Ohio Players, Youngstown’s Total Package Band and DJ Dyno, who will play line-dancing music. The event will be hosted by T-Love of JAMZ 101-9-FM. Tickets are $30 at the door and $25 in advance at Buckeye Elks, Goldie’s Flower Shop, In the Kut barbershop and Ryan’s Chair in Youngs-town; RBG Music in Warren; and Klassy Kuts in Farrell, Pa.
Doors open at 9 p.m., and proper dress is required. This is a 21-and-over show.
