South Range 5, Mineral Ridge 4

MINERAL RIDGE

Darrian Yanek led off the top of the seventh with a triple, then Kristen Robinson’s fly ball to the outfield drove her in for South Range’s winning run. Robinson had a triple, and Stevie Taylor added two. Carly DeRose struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits on the mound for the Raiders (14-7, 10-2 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). McKenzie Garland had the only two hits for Mineral Ridge (16-7, 8-4).

Madison 4, Champion 3

CHAMPION

Lindsay Swipas had an RBI double while Haylee Gardiner drove in a run on a single for Champion (13-2). Emilee Hohvart, Sierra Blackson and Mackenzie Kiser also had doubles. On the mound, Kayla Hunt struck out eight. Chantel Smithberger knocked a triple and solo home run for Madison.

Fitch 9, Struthers 3

AUSTINTOWN

Mercedes Pratt had two singles and two RBIs, Alana Callahan had a single and two RBIs and Megan Carney had a run-scoring double and a stolen base for Fitch (9-11, 3-7 All-American Conference American Division). Also for the Falcons, Marie Bishop had a triple and RBI, Cali Mikovich and Alex Corradi both had two singles and an RBI and Christine Holmes had two singles. Hannah Dubec had two singles and two RBIs for Struthers (12-11, 5-4).

Lakeview 2, Howland 0

HOWLAND

Winning pitcher Alexis Neumeister (11-1) tossed a one-hitter, striking out four and walking none. Her two hits included a double. Hannah Petrosky tripled while Shelby Rog and Kim Lane both had two hits for the Bulldogs (16-3). Howland is 14-8.

LaBrae 12, Cardinal Mooney 5

LEAVITTSBURG

Lindsey Moon had one double and three singles for LaBrae (10-12), which overcame a 4-2 deficit with a three-run third inning. Laura Hall had two doubles and Summer McCoy had two singles. Also for the Vikings, Sadie Sutton had a two-base hit and three RBIs. Taylor Smith had a two-run triple. Emily Dugan had six strikeouts and one walk. For Mooney (9-11), Katrina Larson had a three-run home run and single. Angela Penza had a double and two singles and Marissa Gorvet had two singles.

McDonald 19, Lowellville 0

McDonald

Leigh Gatta had 11 strikeouts and one walk in a no-hitter for the Blue Devils, who had an 11-run first inning. Gatta, Emily Magill and Eloise Yates all had two hits, while one of Magill’s was a double.

Mathews 9, Lordstown 2

VIENNA

Jackie Rhine had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs for Mathews (19-4, 16-1 Northeastern Athletic Conference). Cheyenne Eggens had 10 strikeouts and walked two batters as Mathews clinched the title. Tabby Granelly’s two hits included a homer and she drove in three runs. Lordstown is 10-11.

Girard 5, Jefferson Area 1

JEFFERSON

Neco Maderitz (14-4) had 11 strikeouts and two walks in a four-hitter for Girard (17-5, 8-1 AAC National). Bryanna Jay had a solo home run and two singles, Nicole Mazzella had a double and single and Callie Jay, Allie Rose and Mickey Sigurani all had two singles for the Indians.
