Parents announce engagement and wedding plans

Daniel and Karen Varone of Youngstown, and Douglas and Maribeth McGlynn of Austintown, are announcing the engagement of their children, Amanda Varone and Gregory McGlynn, both of Austintown.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown will be the setting for the couple’s afternoon wedding June 23. An evening reception in their honor is being planned at the Assumption Social Center of St. Mary’s in Youngstown.

Invitations will be extended for both gatherings.

Miss Varone earned a degree in practical nursing from Choffin School of Practical Nursing. While employed as a licensed practical nurse at Austinwoods Rehab Health Care in Austintown, she is pursuing an RN degree through Excelsior College.

Mr. McGlynn is a summa cum laude graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

He is a member of the Austintown Police Department.
