Nancy Herron, James Hanek III plan August rite

Nancy M. Herron of Boardman and James R. Hanek III of Austintown are engaged and planning a summer wedding, their parents are announcing.

The bride-elect’s parents are Glen and Judith Herron of Salem. The groom’s parents are James Jr. and Linda Hanek of Austintown.

The couple are planning an open ceremony for their wedding at 2 p.m. Aug. 4 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Salem. A reception is to follow at Das Dutch Village Inn in Columbiana, for which invitations will be issued.

Miss Herron has a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a master’s of occupational therapy degree from Chatham College. She is employed as an occupational therapist for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley in Boardman.

Mr. Hanek has a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in education from Walden University. He is employed by South Range High School as a biology teacher, head golf coach and head baseball coach.
