LOUIE TODAY: Addiction expert Oliver Ameisen, civil rights lawyer Avery Friedman
Louie, Vindy.com's news radio partner, will be talking with Dr. Olivier Ameisen about his new model for treatment of addiction that was featured last week in a front page story in The Vindicator.
Ameisen used high doses of the drug Baclofen in test subjects and claimed complete, rapid, effortless suppression of craving and other symptoms and consequences of addiction. He has published several articles on the subject in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Born and raised in Paris, in 1983 Olivier moved to New York and joined the prestigious cardiology team at New York Hospital and Cornell University Medical College.
Also, Louie will welcome newcomer to Brainfood, Atty. Avery Friedman, nationally distinguished civil rights lawyer and law professor who is called “an artist in the courtroom" by NAACP board chairman and legendary civil rights champion Julian Bond. Friedman He has litigated roughly 3,000 federal civil rights cases, recovering nearly $50,000,000 for discrimination victims. He has faced off against the Ku Klux Klan and successfully tried one of the longest federal fair housing trials in American history.
Friedman has also taught at nearly two dozen law schools including Stanford, Berkeley, Duke, University of Michigan, Wisconsin, Tulane and the University of Texas. He regularly appears on national television shows including Good Morning America, The O’Reilly Factor, Hannity & Colmes, MSNBC, and Court TV.
