Help with funeral for victim of slaying
YOUNGSTOWN
The family of a man murdered while trying to sell electronics on the West Side is asking the public’s help in covering burial expenses.
Michael Abighanem, 27, of Thalia Street, was shot after he and a friend went to a house on Silliman Street on the West Side around 4:30 p.m. Friday so Abighanem could sell a video-game system and a laptop computer. Police are calling the murder a robbery gone bad.
The family request that donations to help with funeral expenses be sent to any PNC Bank. A fund — “The Michael Abighanem Memorial Fund” — has been set up to receive donations.

Southington
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are focused on removing impaired drivers more than ever before, according to a news release. In March, troopers arrested 503 more drivers for operating a vehicle under the influence than during the same period in 2011.
OVI-related fatal crashes are down 28 percent through March of this year. Impaired drivers were responsible for 40 percent of the fatal crashes in 2011, the patrol said.
People can call #677 to report impaired drivers or drug activity, said the post’s Lt. Brian Holt.
Pregnant mom is high on heroin
NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP)
A Lawrence County woman charged with heroin possession after police say she repeatedly passed out in a restaurant booth while sitting with her two toddlers learned she is pregnant while undergoing drug tests at a hospital.
Ellwood City police say 33-year-old Darcy Lynn Kelosky learned of her pregnancy while at Jameson Hospital here, where she was taken after her arrest Monday night at a local restaurant.
Kelosky surrendered on drug charges and told a district judge she is an addict with mental-health problems.
Restaurant employees called police and police arrived to find her nodding off as they tried to question her with her two other children, ages 2 and 3, present.
Police say Kelosky acknowledged snorting heroin and had some with her.
