ODNR approves drilling permits for two wells in Columbiana County

YOUNGSTOWN — Ohio Department of Natural Resources issued permits for two new horizontal wells for Columbiana County.

Permits were issued for locations in Hanover Township on Laughlin Mill Road between Trinity Church and Yair roads and Elk Run Township off Miller Road between Roberts and Woodville School roads. Both permits were granted to Oklahoma-based Chesapeake Exploration LLC.

These are the 33rd and 34th horizontal drilling permits issued for the tri-county area.
