Canfield men’s golf league seeks members

The Canfield Men’s Golf League is looking for new members for the 2012 season that opens on April 25 at Flying B Golf Course. The league has been in operation for 49 years and plays at Flying B Golf Course in Salem on Wednesday nights.

The league is unique because the members do not play head-to-head every week as most leagues do. Golfers are assigned to teams and the low net scores are used to compute points that are awarded for that week.

Most members play on Wednesday night, but if a member cannot make the Wednesday playing date they are able to play a makeup round by the Sunday of that week. Many members play with whomever they want to without regards to teams, which allows friends to play in the same group. Members can also bank a round if they are going to be on vacation or will miss that weeks play for whatever reason.
