YOUNGSTOWN

Humility of Mary Health Partners (HMHP) is having its Northeast Ohio Healthcare Supplier Diversity Event for minority and women-owned businesses April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Health Center on Belmont Avenue.

The event welcomes minority and women-owned businesses to showcase their products and services, meet with other business owners, and learn more about doing business with HMHP. In addition to networking opportunities with HMHP decision makers, participants can learn more about the importance of becoming certified as a minority or women-owned business enterprise with representatives from the Ohio Commission on Minority Business Enterprises. Produce giveaway

WARREN

The Warren Family Mission is having a produce giveaway Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the mission’s parking lot at 2671 Youngstown Road SE. The produce is provided by Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.

Spring symposium

WEST MIDDLESEX, PA.

The Women’s Center of Sharon Regional Health System is having its annual spring symposium, Be Kind to Yourself, on April 14 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Park Inn by Radisson in West Middlesex.

The keynote speaker is Linde Finsrud Wilson, chief executive officer of Sharon Regional, whose topic, “How to Balance It All,” offers suggestions for balancing the challenges of working, being a mother and wife, while still finding time for personal interests including staying fit and healthy.

Additional presentations include Healthy Habits for You and Your Family, Proper Body Mechanics for Healthy Joints, Cut Me Some Slack (How to Say No Without Guilt), Integrated Medicine (Reiki Therapy and Yoga), and Belly Dancing: Discover Your Inner Rhythm and Beauty.

There are also health screenings and information, a Chinese Auction to benefit the March of Dimes, and vendors displaying jewelry, handbags, crafts and kitchen accessories.

Llama fundrasier for Second Harvest

Pet a llama Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. outside of Quality Petmart at 5543 Mahoning Ave. and help the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley’s Harvest for Hunger.

The Llucky Llama 4-H Club is collecting monetary and nonperishable food donations for the Harvest for Hunger campaign to help feed hungry people in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Since 2003, the 4-H Club has raised more than $4,000 for the Harvest for Hunger campaign which has enabled Second Harvest to provide more than $60,000 worth of food to hunger relief organizations.

Award helps build protective enclosure

Youngstown

The Youngstown Foundation has awarded $20,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley toward the cost of constructing a protective enclosure at the warehouse delivery entrance. The enclosure will enable the Food Bank to achieve food safety certification from AIB International.
