Mixed review of Mahoning Valley home sales in February


YOUNGSTOWN — Results of Mahoning Valley home sales and sale prices continued to be mixed during February.

Home sales in the three-county area totaled 267 in February, up 9 percent compared to February 2011, when the association registered 244 sales.

Sales in Trumbull and Columbiana counties rose compared to the same month a year ago and the average home sale price increased in Columbiana and Mahoning Counties.

Mahoning County home sales, however, fell from 111 in February 2011 to 105 this February. The average home-sale price rose from $77,518 to $79.461.

In Trumbull County, home sales ascended from 97 last February to 112 this February. The average home-sale price declined from $74,264 to $66,873.

In Columbiana County, home sales increased from 36 to 50, and the average home-sale price skyrocketed from $58,537 to $81,872.

For the first two months of 2012, home sales in the Valley are up about 16 percent.
