Judge: No contempt in release of documents in Bassil Ally case

CLEVELAND — U.S. District Judge Christopher Boyko did not find the Islamic Society of Greater Youngstown or society lawyer Scott Cochran in contempt of court for the release of court documents to the media in the Bassil Ally discrimination case.

The judge ruled reasonable attorneys could disagree on the interpretation of his order regarding the release of court documents in the lawsuit.

He found that Cochran was honest and sincere in his explanation of interpretation of the court's order. Cochran apologized to the judge for misreading the intent of the order, and the Judge Boyko accepted the apology.
