Happy 101st birthday, Hilda Delaney!

Hilda Delaney, surrounded by family and balloons, recently celebrated her 101st birthday. A resident at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles, Mrs. Delaney was born March 20, 1911, the oldest daughter in a family of seven children, and was primarily responsible for raising her six siblings. Only one sibling is still living. Later she worked for GE and a local pharmacy, holding down two jobs for most of her life to support her family. After retirement she became very involved with her grandchildren and was a volunteer for Mobile Meals. Delaney is a mother of three and has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
