Spaghetti dinner, free concert planned

YOUNGSTOWN

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., will host a spaghetti dinner and free concert April 1. Dinners will be served in the church hall from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 8 and under. Carryouts will be available.

Harper Kirk, a classically trained harpist, is the director of music at Unity Church Centre in Liberty. He will perform in the church at 2 p.m. The program, which is free, will include Celtic and Victorian music. Goodwill offerings will be accepted.

Benefit dinner set at Calvary Baptist

YOUNGSTOWN

Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, will host a benefit spaghetti dinner from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday in memory of Mary Rose Rosen, who died March 14 of cancer. Proceeds will go toward outstanding medical bills incurred during her care.

Dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad, Italian bread, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $8 for adults ($15 per couple) and $3 for children under 12. There also will be a basket auction and a 50-50 drawing.

Book fair scheduled at St. Rose School

GIRARD

St. Rose School, 61 E. Main St., will host a Scholastic Book Fair from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday in Room 26.

Patrons can support the reading program by purchasing a book and donating it to the school, by making a monetary donation toward book purchases for the school, or by buying books for children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

High school plans father-daughter dance

NILES

Niles McKinley High School will sponsor a father-daughter Spring Princess Dance from 6 to 9 p.m. April 21 at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N. Main St.

Fathers with daughters ages 5 to 12 are invited to attend the semiformal occasion, where there will be a disc jockey, professional photographer, dinner and dancing.

The cost is $35 per couple and $15 for each additional child. Tickets are available and must be bought in advance at the school’s main office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. No tickets will be sold at the door.
