YSU might lose two labor activists

Sherry Linkon, a Youngstown State University English professor who was the spokeswoman for the faculty union during contract negotiations last fall, is working on the final details for a position at Georgetown University.

Linkon, who has been at YSU for 22 years, would develop and direct a writing program at the Washington, D.C., university. Her husband, John Russo, the coordinator of the labor studies program at YSU and co-director of the Center for Working Class Studies, will retire at year’s end.
