EPHRATA, Pa.

Police in central Pennsylvania said a car crash was caused by a toddler left in a running car who put the vehicle into drive.

Ephrata police were called around noon Thursday to Highland Elementary School for a two-car crash.

WGAL-TV reports that a woman parked her car at the school and left her 2-year-old child unattended in the running vehicle as she went inside to pick up a student.

Police said the toddler put the car into drive, the vehicle crossed a sidewalk and road, and slammed into a light pole and parked car.

No one was injured.

The woman will be charged with child endangerment and leaving a child in a car unattended.
