Police: Baby sitter beat Pa. toddler to death

YORK, Pa. (AP) — A central Pennsylvania man is behind bars charged with the fatal beating of a toddler he was baby-sitting last year.

Thirty-nine-year-old Aric Shayne Woodard is charged with homicide in the Nov. 7 death of 2-year-old Jaques Omari Twinn.

Investigators say Woodard beat the boy while looking after him at a home in York.

Court documents say the child died of multiple blunt-force injuries after Woodward reported finding him largely unresponsive in a bath tub.

York police say Woodard told detectives he grabbed the boy and smacked him after finding him smearing himself with feces, then ordered him upstairs to clean up.

A forensic pathologist determined March 9 Twinn had been killed.

Woodward was charged Monday and arrested Tuesday.
