Colorado man gets bike back from ‘Drunk’ needing ride

ASPEN, Colo.

A Colorado man whose bike was stolen says he bears no grudges against a remorseful person who returned it with a handwritten note of apology that was signed “Drunk.”

Aspen resident Jay Maytin says he’s just happy to be back on his Trek.

The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office says the bike was left near the sheriff’s office and police department with a note that said: “Sorry. I stole this bike. I rode it home. Please give it back — Drunk.”

Police tell the Aspen Times there were no witnesses.

Mysterious flash of light found in Phoenix has been solved

PHOENIX

A large, fleeting flash of light that appeared in the darkened skies over the northwestern edge of metropolitan Phoenix last week is no longer a mystery.

Arizona Public Service said recently that a breaker on an electrical line opened, causing a big flash and a brief power outage.

APS officials say an employee came forward last weekend and informed them of the breaker opening that caused no damage to equipment and no power line replacement.

The ball of light that looked like an explosion was captured by a traffic camera on Interstate 17 around 4:45 a.m. on a recent morning.

It happened to be broadcast by KSAZ-TV when the station showed footage of the roadway during a report on the morning’s commute.

But until now, nobody could identify the flash’s source.
