A 31-year-old man is in jail after city police found a large amount of heroin and cash during a traffic stop.
Victor Green, 31, was stopped for speeding at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday on the Madison Avenue Expressway just before the Wick Avenue exit, according to a police report, which did not list an address for Green.
During the traffic stop, the officer noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the car and initiated a search of the vehicle using a police dog.
The officer found nearly $8,000 in cash and a large stack of Ohio lottery tickets in the center console and a sandwich bag filled with heroin in a pair of pants in the car’s trunk, according to a police report.
Green was charged with possession of heroin, appeared Monday in Youngstown Municipal Court and is in the Mahoning County Jail on $71,000 bond.
