Rebecca Basista of Lowellville and Robert Komara of Canfield exchanged wedding vows in a 2 p.m. ceremony Aug. 19 at St. Columba Cathedral. The Rev. John Trimbur officiated, and a reception followed at Stambaugh Auditorium.

She is the daughter of Larry Basista of Lowellville and Victoria Hill of Edinburg, Pa., and he is the son of Bob and Marlene Komara of Canfield.

The bride’s ivory gown was styled with a beaded bodice, a ruffled skirt and a cathedral train.

Tami Nero and Nicole Italiano served as maids of honor to the bride. They wore purple and yellow chiffon dresses, as did the bridesmaids, Brandy Prusak, Amy Novak, Erin Novak and Mary Novak, cousins of the bride; Brianna Komara and Kristen Komara-Van Tiem, sisters of the groom; and Phyllis Nigro, Erin Kamensky, Heather Peterson and Adrianne Logozzo.

Brooke Hallquist, a cousin of the bride, and Madisyn Peterson were flower girls.

Aaron Miller and Doug Hudoba were the groom’s best men. Groomsmen were Tim Basista, brother of the bride; Brett Candela, the groom’s cousin; Ryan Van Tiem, brother-in-law of the bride; and Rob Leonard, James Siao, Alex Axelson, Jeff Stewart, Brad Bakeman and Jason Pridon.

Ethan Smith served as ring bearer.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Maui, Hawaii, and reside in Poland.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and is a registered nurse for MVI Homecare in Youngstown.

The groom attended Bowling Green University and graduated from the Gemological Institute of America with a degree in diamonds, jewelry repair and custom design. He is a third-generation owner of Komara Jewelers in Canfield.
