A summary of recent criminal activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Feb. 29

Falsification: John Akworth, 20, of 3406 Dobbins Road, Poland, was arrested on a charge of falsification at Get-Go Gas Station, 375 E. Main St.

March 3

Tampering with evidence: Cal Smith, 27, of Canfield, was arrested on charges of tampering with evidence and falsification.

March 5

Drug abuse: Christopher Slagle, 20, 7391 Bonnie Place, No. 3, Youngstown, of was arrested on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Aggravated menacing: Michael Lucyk, 53, of 11172 Detwiler Road, Columbiana, was arrested on two counts of aggravated menacing.

March 6

Drug offense: William Youmell, Jr., 18 of 281 Topaz Circle, Canfield was arrested on charges of drug paraphernalia and drug trafficking and a 16-year-old Canfield male was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and drug trafficking.

March 7

Drug abuse: A 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested for drug abuse of marijuana at Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive.

Domestic violence: Stephen Blanchard, 24, of 184 N. Roanoke, Austintown, was arrested on charges of domestic violence and aggravated trespassing at Royal Park Apartments, 15 Brookpark Drive, No.3.

March 8

Drug paraphernalia: Andre Hazelton, 18, of Youngstown was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

March 9

Drug abuse: James Bookman, 30, of 9650 Wayne Bridge Road, Lisbon, was arrested on charges of drug abuse and drug paraphernalia at the Park Royal Apartments, 88 N. Broad St.

AUSTINTOWN

March 5

Burglary: A birth certificate and military papers were taken at a home in the 40 block of Parkgate Avenue.

Fraud: A debit card was accessed six times at a home in the 2000 block of Penny Lane.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a bank account at a home in the 70 block of Howard Avenue.

Telecommunications harassment: Harassing phone calls were reported at a home in the 40 block of Atlanta Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A subject allegedly opened a car door into a female’s car door causing damage at Taco Bell, 850 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Aggravated menacing: A male subject threatened another male with a handgun at Home Depot parking lot, 6100 Mahoning Ave., culminating an incidence of “road rage” that started at state Route 11 and Mahoning Avenue.

Theft: Patrons walked out on a $78 bar bill at Quaker Steak and Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd.

Aggravated menacing: A victim was threatened by a male suspect at Body Shop, 1731 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A pack of gum was stolen at Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Counterfeit currency: A victim sold an X-Box to a Craig’s List buyer and was paid with counterfeit currency at Get-Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave.

March 6

Theft: A registration plate was stolen from a vehicle at a home in the 10 block of S. Edgehill Avenue.

Attempted auto theft: A door lock was damaged in an attempted vehicle theft at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Fraud: 20 unauthorized charges were made to an account at an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges totaling $1,969 were reported at a home in the 200 block of S. Navarre Avenue.

Burglary: A television and telephone were taken from a home in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Theft: A tailgate was taken from an auto at Blue Ribbon Motors, 4004 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: Two game systems and shoes were stolen after forced entry at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

March 7

Assault: A woman was struck in the head with a beer can by a co-worker at Go-Go Cabaret, 5455 Clarkins Road.

Theft: A 20-inch freestyle bicycle was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Crum Road.

Obstructing: Thomas Marker, 30, of 35 S. Salem Road, North Jackson, was arrested on charges of obstructing official business and possession of drug abuse instruments.

Menacing: A victim was threatened at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Bench warrant: Tera Tuchek, 21, of 622 N. Hazelwood Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear on charges of theft and criminal trespassing.

March 8

Theft: Five bed trailers were stolen at Southwest Trucking, 5437 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal trespassing: Christopher Rossi, 25, of 61 Shadyside Drive, Boardman, at Delisio’s Hair Replacement, 5657 Mahoning Ave.

Menacing: A suspect is accused of menacing at Comprehensive Logistics, 365 Victoria Road.

Breaking and entering: Copper was stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Monaca Avenue.

Identity theft: An income tax return was falsified at a home in the 3000 block of Staatz Drive.

Theft: Jewelry was stolen from an apartment in the 200 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted messages were received at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

March 9

Disorderly conduct: Joseph Stevens, 19, of 171 Kenmore Ave., SE, Warren, was issued a summons charging him with disorderly conduct in the 3000 block of Oakwood Avenue.

Drug offense: Austin Chase, 19, of 2277 Innwood Drive, was issued summonses for charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Resisting arrest: Robert Smith, 20, of 215 Edgewater Drive, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Theft: Four tires and rims were stolen from an auto at Hillbrook Apartments, 490 S. Raccoon Road.

Fraud: An unauthorized transaction of $100 was made on the victim’s bank account at Economy Inn, 5455 Clarkins Road.

Assault: Two males assaulted each other over stolen copper at a home in the 3000 block of Sandalwood Lane.

Warrant: Quintasia Hopkins, 21, of 1340 Victor Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant charging complicity to theft.

Theft: Four lug nuts were taken from an auto at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Menacing: An employee was threatened by a patient at Dr. Mackovit’s office, 25 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Burglary: Jewelry was taken from a home in the 40 block of Atlanta Avenue.

Breaking and entering: Five feet of fence was cut at Jeswald’s Towing, 6528 Mahoning Ave.

March 10

Warrant: Rita Soos, 50, of 4215 No. 5 Burkey Road, was arrested on a warrant charging assault.

Warrant: Demetrius Ison, 28, of 4510 Nantucket Drive, Apt. 4, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Fraud: Unauthorized transactions were made on a credit card for $210 in the 500 block of Oakcrest Drive.

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto at Blue Ribbon Motors, 4004 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Christopher Tirone, 21, homeless was arrested on a warrant charging theft.

Theft: A company key and documents were stolen at Alvaro Construction, 5437 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Dennis Jones, 51, of 33 Wayne St., Apt. 11, Niles, was issued a summons charging him with theft of $612 in merchandise at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

March 11

Criminal damaging: A left front tire was damaged at Quaker Steak and Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd.

Criminal damaging: A different left front tire was damaged at Quaker Steak and Lube.

Theft: A male suspect ran out of the store with a bag of goods at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Jodan Lukanec, 27, of 14643 Ellsworth Road, Berlin Center, was arrested on a warrant charging him with forgery.

Theft: A male suspect stole miscellaneous medications and fled in a Ford Taurus at Walgreen’s, 40 N. Meridian Road.

Criminal damaging: Items were turned over in the driveway of a home in the 5000 block of Oakcrest Avenue.
