Howland RB Smith commits to Michigan

HOWLAND

Howland junior running back De’Veon Smith verbally committed to the University of Michigan on Saturday.

Smith chose the Wolverines over several other offers, including one form Ohio State. The three-year starter earned second team All-Ohio honors in Division II last season after rushing for more than 2,000 yards.

He is the fourth area player to commit from the 2013 class, joining Fitch DL Billy Price (Ohio State), Mooney safety Marcus McWilson (Nebraska) and Warren Harding safety Jalyn Powell (Michigan State).
