Author to lead writing workshops
CANFIELD
Area writers are invited to Monday Night Writers, a mix of writing exercises and feedback, at 6 p.m. Monday at Peaberry’s Cafe, 4350 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Led by author and professional writer Nancy Christie, the two-hour sessions will explore both the creative and business aspects of writing. Those with works in progress also will have a chance to get comments and critiques on their work.

Dance for adults with disabilities
NILES
The Nicholson Center, 1240 N. Main St., will have its monthly dance at 6:30 p.m. March 23. The theme will be “March Madness,” and participants are asked to wear their favorite college team attire. Admission is $2 or free with the donation of canned goods to the Warren Family Mission. The dance is open to adults who attend any day habilitation service in Trumbull, Columbiana and Mahoning counties. The Nicholson Center is a nonprofit agency that works with adults with developmental disabilities.
Six acts to perform at local talent show
SHARON, PA.
Shenango Valley’s Got Talent, a talent show featuring six local acts, will be 7 p.m. March 31 at the James E. Winner Arts and Culture Center, 98 E. State St., downtown. Headlining the show will be rock band Lights Camera Distractions. Other acts are Courtney McKay, Deborah Lewis-Sanders, The Fuzzy Pandas, Those Shades and Familiar Faces. The host will be Michael “Cool” Rhodes, who is a magician and is also promoting the show. Tickets are $10 at the door and $8 in advance at happytoadent.com.
