YSU women’s football coaching clinic set

The Youngstown State women’s football coaching clinic will be held on March 30 at Stambaugh Stadium.

The cost to attend the clinic is $25 and all proceeds will be donated to the ALS Association Fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Registration runs from 5-6 p.m. and hors d’oeuvres will be provided before the clinic begins in the DeBartolo Stadium Club.

The YSU football staff will present the fundamentals of coaching and part of the clinic will be an up-close look at the WATTS training center.

Mill Creek South Course open to play

The South Course at the Mill Creek Golf Course is now open to play. The North Course should be ready in the coming weeks. For tee times, call 330-740-7112.

Grisdale honored by OHSBCA

Poland boys basketball coach Ken Grisdale will be honored by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association for achieving 300 career wins. Grisdale will receive a clock during halftime of a state championship game in Columbus on March 24.

Scrappers and Indians extend agreement

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers announced that the Player Development Contract (PDC) with the Cleveland Indians has been extended for a period of two years keeping the Scrappers affiliated with the Tribe through the 2014 season.

The Scrappers have been affiliated with Cleveland since Mahoning’s inaugural season in 1999.
