Organizations sponsor concealed-carry class

United Veterans of America-Ohio Post 7, Hubbard Conservation Club and Western Reserve Fish and Game Protective Association will sponsor two National Rifle Association basic pistol classes this spring. The sessions meet requirements to apply for a concealed-carry license.

The 12-hour courses include two evenings of classroom instruction and range time. The course is for novices and those with firearms experience. The state requires 12 hours of instruction for CCL. Classroom sessions will be at United Veterans of America, 717 Belmont Ave.

The first session will be at 6 p.m. April 4 and 5 and conclude April 6 or 7, depending on class size and range availability.

The second session will be at 6 p.m. May 9 and 10 and conclude May 11 or 12.

All materials, ammunition and use of target handguns will be supplied at a cost of $95 per student or $180 per couple in advance. There are 18 places in each class.
