Energy companies commit to $900M project in Columbiana, Harrison counties

LISBON — A trio of energy companies will build a state-of-the-art cryogenic processing facility in Columbiana County.

Oklahoma-City based Chesapeake Energy Corp., through affiliates of its wholly owned subsidiary, Chesapeake Midstream Development, L.P., has entered into a partnership with M3 Midstream LLC and EV Energy Partners, L.P. to develop a $900 million midstream services complex that will employ hundreds of Ohioans, Chesapeake said today in a release.

The facility, which will provide the necessary infrastructure to process natural gas and natural gas liquids in the liquids-rich Utica Shale in Eastern Ohio, will have an initial capacity of 600 million cubic feet per day.

Natural-gas liquids will be delivered to a centralized complex in Harrison County that will have an initial NGL storage capacity of 870,000 barrels and fractionation capacity of 90,000 barrels per day, as well as a substantial rail-loading facility.
