Awards presented for St. Pat’s parade

BOARDMAN
The 34th annual Mahoning Valley St. Patrick’s Day Parade, said to be the third-largest such parade in Ohio, drew about 190 entries and crowds estimated between 15,000 and 20,000.
The following awards were handed out after Sunday’s parade:
Best Float: Ancient Order of Hibernians/ Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, first prize; Shepherd of the Valley, second prize.
Best Band: Ursuline High School, first prize; Western Reserve, second prize.
Best Pipe Band: Red Hackle Pipes & Drums, first prize; Gleann Mor Pipe Band, second prize.
Best Drum Line: Boardman High School, first prize.
Best Marching Unit: Sons of the Confederate Veterans, first prize; Stunt Tumble Cheer, second prize.
Best Novelty Unit: Traveling Trail Team, first prize. Mahoning Valley Old Car Club, second prize.
Best Color Guard: Cardinal Joint Fire District, first prize; Marine Corps League, second prize.
Best Irish Theme: Burke School of Irish Dancers, first prize.
Best of Parade: Steel City Ambassadors Drum & Bugle Corps, first prize.
