Haineses’ 50th is celebrated by friends, family

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haines

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haines of Mecca received a surprise last night for their 50th wedding anniversary. Their children threw a surprise party for them.

The couple were married March 10, 1962. That month Mr. Haines joined the Air Force and Mrs. Haines joined him in Texas in July. They moved back to Ohio in 1966.

Mr. Haines worked for Amweld for 28 years before retiring in 1994, and as a part-time custodian for 10 years at Champion Schools.

Mrs. Haines is a homemaker.

The couple have two children, Trudy (David) Hunter of Hubbard and Ronald Haines of Mentor. They also have five grandchildren, Daniel, Ron Jr., Blake, Makayla and Shawn, and a great-granddaughter, Isabella. A great-grandson, Darren, is deceased.
