YOUNGSTOWN
A 34-year-old man was killed and a 25-year-old man was hospitalized after a double shooting around 11 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Lane Ave. Dead is Damon Hodges, who city police found inside his home.
The other man, who police said called 911 for help, was found on the back porch of an neighboring house.
The Mahoning County coroner’s office is awaiting results of an autopsy before ruling on the official cause of Hodges’ death. No arrests had been made as of Saturday night. City police would not release the name of the second victim or more information about the incident.
Emergency drill
LISBON
Columbiana County agencies and health-care providers will have a drill from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Columbiana County Career and Technical Center, 9364 state Route 45, to test the disaster preparedness of the county’s alternate-care sites.
Hybrid training

Area police, fire and other rescue personnel are invited to a free training session at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday offered by Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC on how to respond to hybrid vehicles in emergency situations.
The clinic will be conducted by experts from General Motors at the Sweeney Chevrolet dealership, 7997 Market St. Seating is limited to the first 125 who register. The seminar will review how to identify hybrid vehicles, how the systems operate and what types of safety precautions are necessary. Bluebird program
Sandy Lake, Pa.
McKeever Environmental Learning Center, 55 McKeever Lane, and the Bluebird Society of Pennsylvania will have a program about bluebirds from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Tips will be provided on how to attract the birds to your backyard. Speaker is Harry Schmeider who will address issues associated with the bluebird population.
