East Side shooting kills 1, injures another

YOUNGSTOWN

A 34-year-old man was killed and a 25-year-old man was hospitalized after a double shooting around 11 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Lane Ave.

Dead is Damon Hodges, whom city police found inside his home.

The other man, who police said called 911 for help, was found on the back porch of an neighboring house.

The Mahoning County coroner’s office is awaiting results of an autopsy before ruling on the official cause of Hodges’ death.

No arrests had been made as of Saturday night.

City police would not release the name of the second victim or more information about the incident.
