Circus adds show to run at Covelli

YOUNGSTOWN

A ninth show has been added to the upcoming run of Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus at Covelli Centre. The new show time will be 3 p.m. April 2.

Tickets for all shows are now on sale through Ticket-master and the arena box office. Show times are 7 p.m March 30; 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m. March 31 and April 1; and 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 2.

Acting master class at the Playhouse

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown Playhouse will present an Advanced Scene Study Master Class beginning March 17. The class is open to actors and actresses over 18 with acting training and stage experience. Cost is $50.

Participants will explore a variety of acting techniques to create vibrant and believable characters in dynamic scenes. The 10-week workshop will use techniques and exercises from Meisner, Michael Chekhov, Viola Spolin and others. It will culminate in a public performance at The Youngstown Playhouse.

FAIRLAWN

Casting director Harriet Greenspan will conduct casting workshops for child, teen and adult actors at the Hilton Hotel-Akron/Fairlawn, 3180 W. Market St., Sunday. Greenspan, a casting director for 25 years, cast “25 Hill,” “Mean Girls 2,” and Scooby Doo movies. She is currently casting a Nickelodeon show.

Bluegrass concert

Animal Welfare will present a bluegrass concert with the Stoney River Band from 2 to 4 p.m. March 17 at the Johnson Community Center, 800 Gillmer Road.
