Reminder: Groundbreaking ceremony at 1 p.m. today at Rayen Stadium

YOUNGSTOWN — The campaign committee to raise funds for the new Rayen Stadium Field will have a groundbreaking ceremony at 1 p.m. today at the field, located on Benita Avenue on the city's North Side. The field is behind the former Rayen School.

Prominent community figures will turn shovels to mark the start of construction, including Jim Tressel, former Ohio State and Youngstown State University head football coach, who is campaign committee co-chairman.

The public is invited, and there will be an update on fundraising.
