Police: Pa. boy killed by falling tree

OAKS, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a 5-year-old boy is dead after being struck by a falling tree in suburban Philadelphia.

Police say the young boy was walking along a trail near the Perkiomen Creek in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County when he was struck by a falling tree on Thursday afternoon.

The boy was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The boy’s name was not immediately released.
