Poland band members excel at competition

On Feb. 11, 41 members of the Poland Seminary High School band participated in the Ohio Music Education Association Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Event at South Range High School.

The students participated in 29 solos and 11 small ensemble performances, each one rated by a judge.

Out of the 40 events, 26 received a rating of Superior, 11 Excellent and 3 Fair.

The participants were Abby Begezda, Allison Kowal, Amy Noll, Ann Riddle, Angelisa Melnek, Anthony Suszczynski, Austin Vogel, Ben Haylett, Casey Kantaras, Claudia Gage, David Lankitus, Devin Beaumier, Emily Auth, Emily Moon Gabrielle Vargo, James Weetman, Julianna Patrick, Julie Mortellaro, Karlie Kowal, Katie Auth, Katie Becherer, Madeline Crish, Marisha Partika, Michael Toppi, Myranda D’Apolito, Natalie Rivello, Natalie Triveri, Paul Alberty, Rachel Jeswald, Rebecca Dangerfield, Ross Hill, Ryan Mrofchak, Sam Finocchio, Sarah Comstock, Spencer Oslin, Stephanie Brink, Theodora Constantine, Tierra Brown, Tyler Conti, Tyler Ford and Vince DeChellis.
