Neighbors | Submitted.Members of Girl Scout Troop No. 162 use donated canned goods items to create a can cake at Arby's in Canfield.
To honor the Girl Scouts of the USA’s 100th anniversary, Canfield Girl Scout Troop No. 162 has united with Arby’s in championing the fight against hunger.
Through next Saturday, patrons may drop off a minimum of two canned goods to Arby’s locations in Canfield, Howland and Poland to create “Can Cakes.” With their donation, they will receive a value fry coupon.
On March 2, Troop 162 donated more than three dozen canned good to kick off the event. At the end of the campaign, Girl Scout Troop No. 162 will package and deliver the canned goods to Second Harvest Food Bank. Canned and dry goods collected during the spring help stock the shelves for the summer months when children are home from school.
Members of Girl Scout Troop No. 162 are Anna Sinclair, Cami Torres, Cara DeChurch, Carmel Cerimele, Clarissa Rosteck, Jenna Troxil, Mary Gomez and Olesia Benedict. Troop Leaders are Sue Sinclair and Darla Troxil.
