Feb. 3
Menacing: A Boardman High School student reported being threatened and harassed at school.
Theft: A vehicle check in the 4100 block of Market Street led to 44-year-old Barbara J. Mhawesh’s arrest. Mhawesh, of 1139 Park Hill Drive, Youngstown, was wanted by Columbiana County authorities on a felony-theft count.
Identity fraud: A Sharon Drive woman found out her information had been used online to secure car loans at several dealerships.
Drug paraphernalia: A township boy, 16, was charged, accused during a traffic stop of having a device used to grind marijuana.
Theft: A car safety seat was among property taken from a vehicle in the 100 block of Lemans Drive.
Feb. 4
Theft by deception: A Sugartree Drive man told police a caller from Goyer, Ga., claimed the accuser would be arrested if he failed to pay a $507.50 past-due loan that he had never taken out.
Theft: Two hubcaps were stolen off a car in the 900 block of Larkridge Avenue.
Drugs: Officers investigating a vehicular accident on Market Street cited 21-year-old Steven P. Bowles, 280 W. Main St., Washingtonville, after saying they found a bag with a small quantity of suspected marijuana and a metal pipe with suspected marijuana residue.
Arrest: Jeremy C. Bell, 25, of 5265 Trotter Drive, Boardman, was picked up on Market Street. Bell was wanted on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court to face a breaking-and-entering charge.
Criminal damaging: Someone drove over a lawn in the 6100 block of Youngstown-Poland Road and damaged landscaping lights and bricks.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle left tire ruts in a front yard in the 7400 block of Sierra Madre Trail.
Burglary: Someone removed an air-conditioning unit from a rear window before entering a home in the 100 block of Forest Park Drive. Stolen was $27,000 as well as various coins, pieces of jewelry and medications.
Theft: The rear license plate was removed from a car in the 7100 block of Locust Avenue.
Possible theft: A Forest Ridge Drive woman told police she never received a tenant’s $400 rent payment and surmised the money may have been stolen from her mailbox.
Feb. 5
Assault: A woman at a Southern Park Mall store said a man made unwanted physical contact with her during an argument.
Fraud: A Spartan Drive woman reported a caller from Jamaica claimed she had won $4.5 million.
Burglary: Took place in the 20 block of Indianola Road, where 275 feet of copper piping was removed.
Theft: A man stole merchandise from Family Dollar, 4030 Market St.
Theft: Police at the Mahoning County jail booked 24-year-old Joseph F. Feret, 13 Midwood Circle, Boardman, on a theft charge. Feret was accused of stealing two 250-pound shipping racks from Shapes Unlimited, 590 E. Western Reserve Road.
Feb. 6
Harassment: An Arlene Avenue man said he received three in the latest series of such calls.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 1300 block of Doral Drive was found with a broken driver’s-side window and dents in a door.
Theft of services: A man without permission placed a bag of garbage in a trash bin belonging to a business in the 7400 block of Market Street.
Criminal damaging: Someone in the 300 block of Mathews Road used a key to do $300 in damage to a vehicle’s passenger-side door.
Criminal damaging: Roughly 1,000 square feet of property in the 7200 block of South Avenue was damaged, apparently by off-road vehicles.
Damage: A car in the 6600 block of South Avenue was found with damage to its steering column, apparently done by someone who tried to steal the vehicle.
Theft: A steel sewer grate was taken from an area near Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd.
Criminal damaging: A window was broken at a home in the 100 block of Shadyside Drive.
Burglary: Police charged 24-year-old Erik A. Carlson, 7393 South Ave., Boardman, with burglary after a family member alleged Carlson was in her Sheridan Road residence when she returned and refused to leave.
Domestic violence: Craig M. Ansevin of Parkwood Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with the crime after his father, of Boardman, alleged Ansevin punched his face at least three times, causing him to fall.
Felonious assault: Authorities responded to a domestic situation on Hillman Way, then charged Jasmine R. Howell, 22, of 4250 Hillman, with felonious assault, and Vanets Jones III, 27, same address, with domestic violence. Howell alleged Jones choked her during an argument; Jones alleged Howell struck or stabbed him with a screwdriver, an allegation she denied.
Feb. 7
Theft: A woman reported her purse stolen while at a business in the 600 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Feb. 17
Arrest: Corey T. Johnson, 22, of 348 E. Philadelphia Ave., Youngstown, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on South Avenue on a warrant from Campbell charging him with violating a court order.
Arrest: Police picked up 44-year-old Todd V. Finley at a Market Street motel. Finley, of 1840 Hudson Ave., Youngstown, was wanted on three counts of failure to appear in court.
Counterfeit: Authorities charged 31-year-old James R. Best, 27 Carter Circle, Boardman, with one count of criminal simulation after saying Best admitted having passed a fake $100 bill at a Boardman-Canfield Road gas station.
Theft: Oneal E. Dean, 34, of 358 Auburndale Ave., Youngstown, was charged with stealing $95 worth of items from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Drugs: An FBI Task Force handed 21-year-old Dominick A. Smith, 171 W. Myrtle Ave., Youngstown, to township police. Smith was wanted on two counts of drug abuse and one of obstructing official business.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a vacant residence in the 7300 block of Salinas Trail via the garage and took an air-conditioning unit.
Criminal mischief: A large number of roofing nails was found on a driveway in the 7700 block of Silver Fox Drive.
Assault: A Poland woman reported having been grabbed and shoved while at a West Boulevard hair salon.
Breaking and entering: Someone tossed a brick through the front window, then entered Buckeye Barber Shop, 5906 South Ave. Stolen was an undisclosed sum of money and an iPhone.
Burglary: To a residence in the 70 block of Willow Drive via the front door. A laptop computer, a monitor and a DVD/videocassette recorder/player were stolen.
Theft: A gold diamond ring was removed from an apartment in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle.
Feb. 18
Arrest: Police responded to a suspicious person at a Market Street business before charging a 23-year-old Youngstown man, whose name authorities had not verified at the time of the report, with disorderly conduct and obstructing official business. The intoxicated man gave different names and frightened several employees, a report showed.
Menacing: A Crestview Drive man told police a motorist yelled obscenities and made threatening movements toward him after the accuser had honked at the driver who nearly backed into him at a red light.
Criminal mischief: Two of a car’s tires were slashed in the 700 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Arrests: Terrance L. Chatman, 29, of Columbus, faced charges of criminal trespassing and assault after a Southern Park Mall official said Chatman was told to leave several times and that he tried to strike the man’s head. Also arrested was Clinton W. Wright, 24, of 487 Pleasant St., East Liverpool, who was wanted on a felony warrant from Columbiana County.
Arrest: A traffic stop near Rockdale Avenue resulted in the arrest of 41-year-old Charlene M. Pagac, 685 Third St., Niles, who was wanted on a felony parole-violation charge.
Drugs: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 224 resulted in a felony cocaine-possession charge against 25-year-old John S. Danner, 1722 Alpha St., East Liverpool, after police said they found a bag containing 120 grams of suspected cocaine.
Feb. 19
Arrest: Darrell C. Cooper II, 30, of 344 E. Florida Ave., Youngstown, was arrested during a traffic stop near Glenwood Avenue on a warrant from Warren.
Theft: Michael P. Esenwein, 26, of 538 W. Park Ave., Columbiana, and Daisy M. Letson, 22, same address, were charged with stealing three packs of razor-blade refills and toothpaste from Walmart. Letson also was charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments when, police said, she had two hypodermic needles.
Theft: Canfield police handed 30-year-old Shakia L. Weldon to township authorities. Weldon, of 540 W. Judson Ave., Youngstown, was wanted on a felony-theft charge.
Criminal damaging: Tire ruts were found in a front yard in the 6600 block of Bristlewood Drive.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle drove over and damaged part of a lawn in the 7400 block of Sierra Madre Trail.
Theft: Several prescription medications and $20 were removed from a car at the Southern Park Mall.
Criminal damaging: A rear sliding-glass door was smashed at a home in the 400 block of Annawan Lane. Damage came to $500.
Criminal damaging: Dents were placed in a vehicle during a fight in the 1300 block of Meadow Lane.
Vandalism: A customer broke a light fixture and a mirror in a restroom at the Blue Wolf Tavern, 1295 Boardman-Canfield Road. The damage estimate was $1,350.
Harassment: A West Boulevard man said his wife has made a series of such calls to him.
Feb. 20
Drugs: Police on Market Street pulled over 20-year-old Daniel S. Hosang, 1707 Stewart Ave., Youngstown, and charged him with trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Hosang, who struggled with officers, had 14.5 grams of suspected marijuana and a scale with suspected marijuana residue, a report said.
Criminal damaging: A lamppost light sustained damage in the 3400 block of Flora Lane.
Theft: Latoya M. Whitfield, 25, of 3820 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, and Markese E. Brown, 25, 435 W. Ravenwood Ave., Youngstown, were accused of stealing $274 worth of merchandise from Walmart.
Stolen property: A New Springfield woman discovered a family member had pawned some of the accuser’s jewelry without permission at a Youngstown-Poland Road business.
Theft: Forty compact discs and 16 prescription medications were removed from a vehicle in the 8100 block of Stadler Avenue.
Identity fraud: A Forest Garden Drive woman noticed a $469 unauthorized online transaction had been made to her bank account.
Feb. 23
Burglary: Occurred in the 5000 block of Hopkins Road, where several rooms were ransacked. Jewelry and a knife were missing.
Domestic violence: Police picked up 22-year-old Darnell J. Williams, 181 E. Ravenwood Ave., Youngstown, on a felony domestic-violence charge after Williams’ pregnant girlfriend alleged he had pulled her to the ground and dragged her by the hair during an argument at a Market Street pregnancy center.
Fraud: A Hitchcock Road man reported having received about 20 calls claiming he won a $2 million lottery and requesting personal information.
Burglary: To a residence in the 400 block of Meadowbrook Avenue, possibly with a duplicate key. Stolen were $80, an iPod, a camera, a global-positioning-system device and prescription medications.
Aggravated menacing: A manager of a Boardman-Poland Road shoe store told police a disgruntled former employee threatened to kill him and two other workers.
Theft: A dealer license-plate was missing from a vehicle in the 5800 block of Market Street.
Identity theft: A Maple Drive woman discovered her Social Security number was used without her consent regarding her income taxes.
Breaking and entering: Someone used a chair to break a window and enter Panache, a hair salon at 7301 West Blvd., then take an undisclosed sum of money.
Attempted breaking and entering: A large rock was used in an effort to break a window and enter Bella Sole spa, 945 Boardman-Canfield Road, though no entry was made.
Feb. 24
Recovered property: Youngstown police found a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer destroyed by fire after it had been stolen in the 1200 block of Doral Drive.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a vacant residence in the 5000 block of Friendship Avenue via a rear door.
Theft: A man reported an eyeglasses case containing a house key stolen while at a Boardman-Canfield Road business.
Criminal damaging: A food item was used to break a window at a home in the 80 block of Gertrude Avenue.
Domestic violence: Steven J. Mober Jr., 20, of 125 Ninth St., Niles, was charged with the crime after a woman alleged Mober had pushed and punched her chest at the Shops at Boardman Park.
Assault: Police charged 37-year-old Jermelle M. Denson, 4100 Hillman Way, Boardman, with simple assault after a man alleged Denton had struck him three times in the head, once causing him to fall backward and strike a table at the residence. Denton also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Feb. 25
Theft: A $2,560, 65-inch plasma TV was stolen from HH Gregg, 441 Boardman-Poland Road.
Felonious assault: Officers responded to a possible fight at a Boardman-Canfield Road fast-food restaurant, where a manager reported a woman tried to hit her with a vehicle after the woman had argued with another manager.
Theft: A woman reported her wallet stolen at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.
Criminal mischief: A vehicle in the 800 block of Cook Avenue was found with a smashed rear windshield. Damage came to $250.
Arrest: Officers responded to a criminal-mischief complaint on Bonnie Place, where they arrested David N. McComb, 39, of 7397 Bonnie Place. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Feb. 26
Theft: A woman in her 20s stole a $600 sweeper from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: An Old Harbour Place man discovered $675 missing from his wallet.
Menacing: A Canfield man at a Wolosyn Circle residence reported getting a threatening call pertaining to a piece of artwork.
Theft: Christian A. Oliver, 18, of 92 Van Buren Ave., Campbell, was charged with stealing four men’s undergarments and a pair of cargo pants from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: Linda D. Angelo, 59, of 2746 Wind Point Trail, Poland, was charged, accused of taking five electronic-phone cases from Walmart.
Burglary: Took place in the 100 block of Beechwood Drive, where copper piping was removed from the basement.
Theft: Campbell police handed to township authorities 35-year-old Anthony McCeachy, 686 McBride St., Youngstown, who faced a felony theft count after having been accused of stealing a $600 cellphone from Verizon Wireless, 439 Boardman-Poland Road. McCeachy also was wanted on misdemeanor warrants from Liberty and Hubbard.
Theft: Police took 21-year-old Mariah R. Beaver into custody on a theft charge. Beaver, of 719 Dewey Ave., East Liverpool, was accused of stealing $324 worth of women’s clothing from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall, then released on a summons.
Feb. 27
Bad check: An Angeline Drive man who replied to an online ad reported having received a $998 money order he knew was fraudulent.
Theft: A man in his 40s stole about $50 worth of merchandise from Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: A woman noticed her wallet missing while at the Southern Park Mall.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A woman failed to return a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe vehicle to Sweeney Chevrolet, 8010 Market St.
Harassment: A Boardman- Canfield Road woman said she’s received continual unwanted text messages.
Theft: A man and a woman stole 21 items from Kohl’s 383 Boardman-Poland Road. The theft was estimated at just more than $1,000.
