About $275K from $2.3M heist recovered
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Authorities have now recovered about $275,000 left behind by an armored car guard who killed his partner under a Pittsburgh bridge and absconded with $2.3 million ten days ago.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports police on Wednesday found about $250,000 stashed under a car at the Dravosburg home Kenneth Konias shared with his parents. That was a day after $24,000 was found at the grave of a family member.
Konias is wanted in the Feb. 28 killing of his partner, 31-year-old Michael Haines. Haines was found fatally shot in the back of their Garda Cash Logistics truck as it was parked under a Pittsburgh bridge.
Police have said they believe Konias is still in the country.
According to court documents Konias called friends and family after the shooting and admitted the killing.
