The Cortland Savings and Banking Co. has announced the opening of a new wholesale lending division.
The CSB Mortgage Company Inc. opened March 1 and will assist the bank with income diversification through non-interest revenue. It will partner with mortgage brokers in contiguous states and originate mortgage loans to be sold to investors in the secondary market, generating income.
CSB Mortgage Company defines its new customer base as “mortgage brokers, mortgage bankers, small-to-medium sized banks and credit unions.”
Operations of CSB Mortgage will be run by Paul Snyderman, senior vice president, and Ladi Stimpfel, vice president.
Snyderman, formerly of First Place Bank, brings 25 years of experience, and Stimpfel, formerly of Amtrust Bank, has been in the industry for 15 years.
Youngstown group gets Dominion grant

Dominion East Ohio presented $100,000 in grants to 10 community organizations, one of which was the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp.
The award was presented at the 17th annual Community Impact Awards, co-sponsored by Inside Business Magazine.
A panel of judges chose the winners from 126 entries submitted by organizations throughout Northeast Ohio. The YNDC received $7,500 for its Iron Roots Urban Farm project, located in the Idora neighborhood.
The farm includes fenced vegetable and fruit production fields, a small orchard, greenhouse, vegetable chiller, and community education center. It serves as a citywide training facility for the YNDC’s Market Gardener Training program, Green Jobs Training program and other community garden, agricultural and landscaping activities.
Forum to focus on financing growth
Youngstown
Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration, in collaboration with the Youngstown Business & Professional Women, is presenting “Financing the Growth of Your Business” at 5:30 p.m. March 14.
The event will take place at the WCBA Conference Center in Williamson Hall and will feature a panel of experts discussing the available sources of funding and strategies for supporting the growth of business.
Featured panelists include: Stacie Salyard, assistant vice president and commercial credit manager for Farmers National Bank; Gina De Angelo, owner of Massage Caf in Canfield; and Teresa McCleary, business consultant, Ohio Small Business Development Center at YSU.
Panelists will provide insight on how business owners should approach financing for their business.
