Oh, you beautiful dolls! Here’s chance to model

YOUNGSTOWN

The American Girl Fashion Show still has a call out for young models to appear in events scheduled for April 28 and 29 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave. Show times are 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

Kids’ Crew of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley is hosting the event. Part of the shows’ proceeds will help fund local programs and services of the hospital.

Girls who wish to model in the shows can answer a “model call” from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the hospital’s Community Room, in Building C on the Beeghly Campus, 6505 Market St., Boardman. A parent must accompany the girl.

Models are chosen based on their poise, confidence, stage presence and resemblance to an American Girl doll. Visit www.americangirl.com to view the dolls.

The outfits the girls wear resemble what American Girl characters Kaya, Josefina, Addy, Rebecca, Kit, Molly and Julie might have worn in their periods of history. Contemporary “My American Girl” outfits for older girls and Bitty Baby fashions for very small children round out the program.

Lively commentary, music and decorations will create a memorable experience for girls and their families.

Models must be a size 10 or 6x to wear outfits provided by American Girl. There will be a limited number of opportunities for girls who wear other sizes, but those models must buy their own outfits from a list that has been approved earlier.

To get an application packet and registration items, and to order tickets for the event at $30 each, call 330-746-8712 or go to the website www.akronchildrens.org/americangirl. Models will be required to pay a $25 registration fee and must be able to go for fittings March 31 and for rehearsals April 22 and 27, in addition to the assigned show time.
