Avalon Inn to become Magnuson Grand Hotel

Longtime Mahoning Valley hotel Avalon Inn has rebranded under the Magnuson Hotels name.

Magnuson, the world’s largest independent hotel group, will update the rooms and appearance of the hotel at 9159 E. Market St., which will be known as Magnuson Grand Hotel.

“We are extremely delighted with the hotel’s location right between Pittsburgh and Cleveland,” CEO Thomas Magnuson said in a statement. “We are proud to welcome owner John Kouvas and his entire staff and are fully committed to increasing their property visibility and reservations.”

CWB Property Management Inc. of Dublin will oversee daily operation of the hotel.

The hotel has meeting space to accommodate up to 400 people, a business center and is surrounded by six golf courses.
