No one was injured in a fire at a township apartment complex Sunday afternoon.

Fire crews were called to a fire at an apartment complex on Green Acres Drive about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

Officials say the fire broke out in a laundry room of the two-story complex. The fire was quickly contained.

Second suspect in slaying is arrested

Youngstown

City police have arrested a second suspect in last week’s killing on Lora Avenue.

Michael Paige, 20, was arrested Saturday and is in Mahoning County jail awaiting arraignment in municipal court on a charge of aggravated murder, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

He and 20-year-old Jasmine Fletcher are accused in last week’s shooting death of Munir Blake.

Fletcher is accused of shooting Blake at his Lora Avenue home after an alleged dispute over electricity.

She is being held on $1 million dollars bond.

Social workers event March 23

Youngstown

The President of the Ohio chapter of the National Association of Social Workers will speak at Social Work Day on March 23

The event is from 8:30 a.m. To 12:30 p.m. March 23 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on Youngstown State University’s campus.

Social Work Day is in recognition of Social Work Month in March, according to a YSU news release.

Marion, whose presentation is titled “The Future of Social Work,” speaks at 9:50 a.m. She is preceded at 8:50 a.m. by Danielle Smith, executive director of the Ohio chapter of NASW, who will talk about “The Legacy of Social Work.”

Also on the agenda is Dennis Morawski, chairman of YSU’s Department of Social Work; and Bradley Smith, director of Ohio NASW Region IV.
