Animal Welfare’s Menagerie Thrift Store is the next business chosen for the Mahoning Valley Cash Mob.
The purpose of the Cash Mob is to encourage people to support local, small businesses en masse, which gives the business owner an economic stimulus, according to a news release.
The event begins at 11 a.m. March 17 at the thrift store, 6037 E. Market St. in Howland.
In addition, Up A Creek Restaurant will donate 10 percent of any meal or refreshment purchase by Cash Mob members to Animal Welfare.

Rookery Radio schedules benefit
Youngstown
Youngstown State University’s student-run Internet radio station will host a benefit.
The first Rookery Radio Benefit Bash is March 24, at the Lemon Grove in downtown Youngstown, according to a YSU news release.
The event will feature new music from local bands and a silent auction including Cleveland Indians tickets and concert tickets. Rookery T-shirts will be available for sale.
A $5 per-person cover charge will benefit Rookery Radio.

The MainStreet Chamber is organizing its first “Down On Main Street” small-business expo.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 24 in the Austintown Expo Center at Austintown Plaza.
The expo is an affordable alternative for small businesses in the Valley to showcase and sell their products and services at an affordable price while creating an opportunity for Valley citizens to buy locally, according to a news release by MainStreet Chamber.
Admission is free to the public.
