Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, Walking Club at 9 a.m., blood pressure checks and painting class ($5) at 9:30, bingo and Ask the Social Worker at 10, lunch at 11:30 and computer practice and Food, Fitness and Fun (a six-week course) at noon; Tuesday, Vets Helping Vets and line dancing at 10 a.m., bridge club at 10:30, lunch at 11:30, bingo at noon, Movie Matinee (“Soul Surfer”) at 1 p.m., beginner computer class (preregister) at 3 and intermediate computer at 4; Wednesday, Walking Club and open exercise at 9 a.m. bingo and Texas Hold’em at 10, lunch at 11:30 and Crafts with Paula (doll making) at noon; Thursday, yoga and open exercise/Wii bowling and Ping Pong at 9:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30, bingo and computer lab open at noon and Ask for Assistance at 5; and Friday, Walking Club at 9 a.m., bingo and discussion group at 10, lunch at 11:30 and open exercise, Wii bass fishing and “A Matter of Balance” at noon. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, and lunch is served on a first-come, first-served basis. Easter Seals Private Duty will provide health assessments to seniors in Mahoning County ages 60 and older, but anyone is welcome. A nurse will provide screenings for blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and weight. The following are scheduled: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, on March 12 and March 19 at the Austintown Senior Center; 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at East Library; 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at West Library; 1 to 2 p.m. March 14 at Newport Library; and 10 a.m. to noon March 22 at the Main Library.

Niles SCOPE Senior Center, 14 E. State St., is offering two Lunch ’n Learn programs for this month. The first, “Driving Safety,” will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. Ed Hoffess of New Life Hearing will present the program, and free hearing tests will be offered. The second program will be from 11:30 to 1 p.m. March 22. The topic, “Ireland,” will be covered by Eileen Novotny, who is of Irish descent and has traveled extensively in Ireland. The Slightly Irish Singers will entertain. For each program, lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. and the program follows. A donation of $1 is requested for each. Sign up in person at the center or call the center at 330-544-3676 to preregister.

Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, needlecraft at 8:30 a.m., income tax from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and bridge and Healthy U at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m. Alzheimer’s support group 10 to 11 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, bridge for beginners and exercises at noon, digital class and bingo at 2 p.m. and caregivers support group, 2 to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., tap class at noon, and card club and line dancing at 1 p.m.; Thursday, Watch Our Weight and woodcarvers at 9 a.m., diabetic support group 10 to 11 a.m., exercise at noon, and movie matinee and popcorn at 1 p.m.; and Friday, income tax from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wii bowling at 10, card games at noon, birthday party with John Ruman 1:30 to 3 p.m. and cornhole at 2.
