Canfield AARP 3104 will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at Canfield Presbyterian Church. Blood pressure screenings will be available from noon to 12:45. The speaker will be Lynette Reiner, science director of the William McKinley Museum and Library in Canton, who will present “Talking Trash: Where Does Your Garbage Go?” The tour committee has planned the following bus trips: March 10, Playhouse Square in Cleveland to see “Memphis”; March 31, mystery day trip; May 8-9, overnight to Holland, Mich., for the Tulip Festival and Sauder Village; and June 19, Pittsburgh to see the Indians play the Minnesota Twins and a tailgate party. The board meeting will be at 10 a.m. March 19 at the church.
Freetimers, a YSU retirees group, will have their monthly breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s restaurant on Route 224 in Boardman. All retirees, their spouses and friends are welcome.
Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet March 14 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St., Boardman. The social period will begin at 11 a.m., and lunch will be served at 11:45. Mark Munroe, chairman of the Mahoning County Republican Party, will be the featured speaker. Nonperishable goods, canned goods, paper products, current magazines and paperback books will be collected. All area retired teachers are invited. Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Ruby Farkas will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. St. Nicholas Senior Citizens will have a luncheon meeting at 11 a.m. March 13 at the Great Hall with Laverne Cox presiding.
