Mallory Dawn Shields and Adam Joseph Capretta, both of Poland, were united in marriage June 18, 2011, in a beachfront ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at Palmetto Dunes Beach Resort. Carl Schroeder heard the exchange of vows for the daughter of Penny Jo and Gary Shields of Austintown and the son of Donna Capretta of Canfield and the late Ron Capretta.
Before leaving on a wedding trip to Florida, the couple received congratulations at a reception in their honor at The Dunes House in the same location.
The bride wore an ivory strapless silk gazar ball gown styled with a sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice and a skirt that featured pleated cascading layers.
Bridal attendants wore strapless knee-length dresses in a glacier color. Sara Shields was the maid of honor for her sister, and bridesmaids were Kayla Brace, Lauren Plevniak, Meghan Giannini, Holly Oleksa and Halle Hendricks, the bride’s cousin.
Ryan Capretta served as best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Paul Suhar, Chris Mullane, Josh Blaylock, Tom Treleven and Joe Turjanica. Ushers were Corey Hendricks and Josh Hendricks, both cousins of the bride, and Matt Marino, the groom’s cousin.
Mrs. Capretta earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Duquesne University. She is pursuing a master’s degree in health care administration from Benedictine University while employed as a registered nurse at Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman.
Mr. Capretta graduated from Malone College with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He is self-employed as a personal trainer in Canfield.
The couple are making their home in Poland.
